From Wednesday 8 June to Friday 10 June 2016, INENS hosted a course on 'the Regulation of Nuclear Energy', in collaboration with the Office of Atoms for Peace, Thailand. The course was aimed at around 40 participants from across the government and the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology. The course provided an overview of key nuclear policy issues such as safeguards, safety, security, export controls, nuclear liability, expansion of nuclear power, global nuclear cooperation, international treaties, conventions and organisations etc. Over the three days, the course included a mix of lectures and group exercises.

Dr. Atchara Wongsaengchan, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace and Meena Singelee, INENS Executive Director delivered the opening remarks of the workshop. The course was designed and delivered by Dr. Peter Carter, INENS Advisor on Peaceful Uses, and former Head of Nuclear Non-Proliferation at the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change.
